Game and graphics freeze on disconnect

Recommended Posts

I'm not really sure what's going on. Everything works properly in the game up until the point when I try to disconnect, whether by my hand or by my connection failing. When my game tries to close, it's like my graphics card seizes up and can no longer display anything new. I can move my mouse, and the rest of the computer seems to be working. I just can't see any windows because the game screen is still up.

I'm running Windows XP, fully updated. My graphics card is Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT, latest driver as far as I know. Anybody have any ideas? It's really annoying to have to hard shut down every time my game tries to close.

Edit: My graphics driver is a few months out of date. I'll update it and see if there's any improvement.

No good. Updating my driver did nothing, and my game ended up freezing after a half-hour or so. No response from the computer at all, so it seemed to be a little worse.

It fixed by running it windowed. I had an issue with respawning, but it wasn't a computer freezing event.
