Fishing/Throwing spears

You can find spears that can be used next to lakes and/or ocean to fish. They(fish) restore 400 blood when cooked. The spears should also be throwable or used in melee in those tough situations.

Eating spears doesn't sound healthy :-). So hmm can you flesh this out? How far is it throwable? How often could you use it? Would it be retrievable? Does it make noise? Etc. etc.

I don't like like the spear idea but i like the fishing idea. Should just be a fishing rod and line u should scavenge from shacks or places like that.

The throwable range would be about 3/4 of a hand grenade. You can throw it as often as you want, if you still hold more in your inventory. They take up 2 spaces in the regular, or a toolbelt spot. When fishing it will be a random chance where you can gain from 0-2 fish per try, you can try every 30 seconds or so. If stuck in the ground then it would be retrievable, but when it hits a zombie or player then the chance lowers. The noise would be minimal.

I don't want to eat spears, but fish and spear combat sounds good.
