On hacking and locking servers

Recommended Posts

It's getting difficult to enjoy the game lately due to all the hacking that is going on unpunished. The ArmA games have always been notoriously easy to cheat in and I have been, for a long time, in support of having no locked servers but I'm now left questioning the reasoning behind prohibiting the use of passworded servers as things stand. If there is still value in running the game through a hive/prohibiting passwords with regards to data collection for use in creating a standalone, then it makes sense to press on.

If not, with all the unpunished scripting, there's no reason to prohibit passworded servers because far more items are entering the database through scripting than would ever be collected in private by a group or community.

Where's your brain?

Could be I'm missing something, certainly. Care to elaborate?
