ninjaholic 116 Posted July 24, 2012 Nope. Can't get gear back. Sometimes gear comes back if you ALT+F4 and join another server. Known issue. Not too common, but it happens. GeordieMarv 293 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) It might have been one of these servers with a private @hive.If so, because the Hive files (what store your character info/inventory etc) aren't the ones from the dayz devs themselves...it will make a new character.Try joining a different server, and check to see if it has the @hive.Either that, or bug...defo. I rejoined another server and all is well, I guess it wasn't connected to the hive.... it was more a heads up for other players!That said, I have to disagree with the commonly used and afore mentioned 'don't get attatched too your gear' statement (though I completely understand what is meant by it.) Good gear is hard to come by legitimately, finding good gear is a massive part of the game, the threat of losing your good gear gives you the sense of jepardy that makes you think about almost every action I take.I enjoy this game for many reasons, but I'd be lying if I said one of the biggest ones wasn't good gear!
