Suggestion: Hard-coded Factions

I suggest the following factions be implemented. Order and Resistance can have control of respective cities in the game. The only way to become a soldier in one of these two factions is to visit their respective city and select recruitment in the menu. Once you select a faction, you can not change until you create a new character.

Order are ex-military striving to rebuild the city of [EXPUNGED] and introduce law and order. Their alignment is considered "good". Members of the Order have excellent endurance, allowing them to survive longer than their enemies. They also have excellent weapons handling; reducing recoil, weapon sway, and reload and sight-in delays. Order have military skins.

Resistance are a group of anarchists resisting the introduction of governance in Chernarus. They have taken up residence in [EXPUNGED]. Their alignment is considered "bad". Members of Resistance, while subpar with their weapons handling compared to the order, have excellent mobility. They can run fast and recover quickly, allowing them to flank more well-armed opponents or make a quick retreat. Resistance have chernarus terrorist skins.

Neutral. The neutrals are players just starting out. They have no homeland and no clear agenda. Some might be individualists. Others might form or join groups. Some might choose to stay out of the politics. Others might be undecided. They can kill any other player regardless of faction. A neutral's skin will depend on how he behaves. They can either have a civilian skill or a bandit skill.

Members of Order can not fire upon and kill other Order members.

Members of Resistance can not fire upon and kill other Resistance members.

Neutrals can attack anyone and everyone.

You cant look at dayz the same way you look at arma, there isn't OPFOR, BLUFOR and Independant. I think factions would simply take away from the whole concept of dayz.

I disagree whole heartidly.

If you want to create a faction where you don't fire on one another, get some freinds and play together... you see no mechanics need to be added for what your suggesting.. just a little leg work on your end.

I mean you can even generate rival groupd if you so choose.

But from what I'm seeing from your post I'd have to agree with Gogster and say go play Fallen Earth if you want the game to decide what you can and can't do to that extent.

One of the best features of this game for me is that if my buddy has a really nice gun I can betray him and take it.

Simple NO to this.

Against any limits, rules that limit me in the way i like to play.

Damn i do not need a button or what ever that only takes away something and only gives me limits back.

Does this add more fun for me or the group i most of the time play with?

Does your suggestion bring in something that would help to extend the fealing dayz offers? NO i say it takes a lot from it.

And be sure you will get more of the "go away" and "play something else" posts in here, your suggestions will not find many who like such ideas.

To much casual crap out there allready.

Don't put any limits on yourself, then. Better your reading comprehension. Joining a faction would be purely optional.

State what your not understanding is you have the option to join a "faction" already. You are just to lazy to go and make that happen.

Go create two communities... have these two entities play on the same server and wham, bam, tahnk you ma'am... your factions are there.

Game limiting features go against what this game is about... emmotion, immersion, sandbox.

Ok, let us get into this a bit more.

I go around and do not pick a faction, i so have a normal skillset with no bonus at all.

I encounter someone that did pick a faction and cause of his bonus he got he gets the upper hand and kills me or what not.

So what do i do now?

Next time i do not pick a faction again, encounter someone from an other faction that has this cool bonus stuff cause he picked a faction, i do spot him later cause of the free camo he has on.

So i am in some way forced to pick a faction to gain a bonus for my char in the game, cause if i do not do that i end up with nothing extra and i get limited.

Your idea may sound nice for you and you maybe think it is a lot more fun for all and what not, but as i wrote, all of what you suggest (- the bonus skills and such) can be done in dayz allready, there is no need for a button press.

NO bonus skills for anyone, all have the same conditions in the game and only there choices and what they do decides the outcome of the day, not a bonus they got from pressing a button somewere.

DayZ will go from realistic to fantasy stupid shit.

If this is implemented, say goodbye to at least 185,000 players.

Having Bandit and Survivors is good enough just make it so that it's a server option. Having this options makes it so that Bandits can only kill Survivors and vise versa.
