Day Z mod updater

My Day Z updater seems to have been frozen for about 40mins so I was wondering if people use this to update or do they do it manually?

Just do it manually. It takes you about a minute or two.

Download the archives, put them in "arma 2 operation arrowhead\@dayz\Addons" and extract. It's not rocket science.

Click the "Download DayZ (Alpha Test)" button on the front page of the DayZ mod site. It should take you to a list of mirrors and an instructional video down below. From there, you should check the change log after each update to check what has been updated, then download said files and replace the old files with them.

No, check the change log then see what has been updated or changed. Then you download the files from the list and replace the old ones in your @dayz folder.

Edit - The install vid says this won't work on the free version of ARMA2, which is what I'm runinng, but mine works fine. Is it just this type of instillation that wont work on the free version?

I don't think I can download it this way. i think I need the bought version of ARMA2 and I'm running the free version with ArrowHead.

Edit - Why wont the bloody updater work? It just keeps freezing all the time.

I don't think I can download it this way. i think I need the bought version of ARMA2 and I'm running the free version with ArrowHead.

All you need to do is go into your Operation Arrowhead folder and find the @dayz folder in it. Then just use 7zip or WinRAR to extrac the .pbo files from the files you downloaded and drag 'n' drop em' into the addons folder located within the @dayz folder. It'll ask if you want to copy and replace the files. Don't worry, just click "OK" or "Yes" (whichever one pops up, I forget). It's not very hard, and only takes about a minute or two when you get used to it.

Edit: Inquiry; You can run DayZ with Arma2 Free and Operation Arrowhead?

I managed to manually install it but not sure if it's working. I seem to be stuck on waiting for server response and I had an error about weapons or something.
