making different characters?

I was wondering if any one knows if you can make a new character with out effecting another?

You cannot have more than one character at a time. Whenever you login, you will log in with the same gear you logged out with even if you change servers.

Yeah, the only way to create a new character would be suicide. Which in turn would make you lose all your shit. So unless you have a friend to hold your good items or you die in a safe spot there's no point in it.
