essehbee 0 Posted May 22, 2012 Hey, just need some help with multiple character copies with separate versions of the game installed. Also they are all on the same drive.Breakdown on this is as follows:Own a copy of amazon dl'd version of Arma2:CO. Worked fine been playing for days.Earlier today I bought another copy of the game on my steam account, totally separate combined ops obviously game works fine both installed and updated to dayz. Both games work properly the only issue im having is I lost my characters save on the first version of the game I have which is the amazon version. Now no matter what either game I launch it is only putting me on the steam versions character.I bought two separate for solo play and group play now I no longer can do that.I have tried and made sure steam was closed while launching the amazon version still no luck.. any help is appreciated. Tummynator 1 Posted May 22, 2012 maybe 2 different windows accounts?? not sure tho
undead_clown 2 Posted May 22, 2012 I would suggest signing up a second steam account, registering the amazon copy through that account and doing it that way. Both me and my friend have used the same PC with 2 different steam accounts and had no character problems.
essehbee 0 Posted May 22, 2012 I'm going to install it to a separate drive ( the amazon edition ) and try it again, I think it may be due to them being on the same drive even though they are in separate folders.
beginner 4 Posted May 22, 2012 I suppose there a registry key overwrited when u installed the Steam version. Didn't search but i think it's this one: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA (or without Wow6432Node if your system 32-bit). Disgraced 1123 Posted May 22, 2012 It's not drives. It's separate cd keys and windows accounts.
