cruelntention 8 Posted July 24, 2012 Have anyone came across this issue with the new beta update? DMR isn't reflecting the range when pressing page up or down, it actually doesn't even show a range top right corner.

John (DayZ) 62 Posted July 24, 2012 The DMR cannot be zeroedThat. The mildots on the scope are, in essence, your zeroing function. They're effective, as far as I know, up to 800 meters - though you should be able to make shots at greater distances than that, if you're a decent marksman. (Centre is 300m, then 400m/500m/600m). After that it's pretty difficult to judge.

I started rough handing distance a long time ago, so I haven't actually counted out dots in a while - I've forgotten how much distance each actually represents. As far as difficulty in judging, I suppose it depends on how comfortable you are with the DMR - I'm fairly decent with it at 600 meters, and I've managed to nail players after a bit of trial-and-error at 900m. LeOverlord 150 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Standard issue USMC designated marksman rifle. Powerful and accurate at range. The mil-dots in the DMR's scope can be used to estimate your distance from a target. This allows you to zero the rifle with little difficulty. [1]The DMR mildot sight is zeroed in for 400 meters. This means the center of the sight will hit at 400 meters. There's two ways to aim using the mildot sight. One could guesstimate the mils. When doing so, the first, second, third and fourth mildots are respectively at ranges 400, 500, 600, and 700 meters (while zoomed in). The bottom of the sight (the bar below the lowest mildot) is at the 800 meters mark. Beyond that, the mildots run out, so it becomes near impossible to reliably hit targets past the 800 meters mark. By using this method (guesstimating), it's possible to hit a target by aiming at the torso. The shot will land between the neck and upper legs area. So it's not a very reliable method to aim, but it can get the job done. The second way to aim with the DMR scope is to use accurate mil settings to hit more accurately. The mil settings for the DMR are as follows (while zoomed in):Mils - Range0 - 400m1.3 - 500m2.7- 600m4.2 - 700m5.8 - 800mSee the picture below for a representation of the DMR mildot sight. The DMR scope can be used in conjunction with the Night Vision Goggles, while some other scoped weapons cannot.http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=DMR Edited July 24, 2012 by LeOverlord
