Three Noobs Looking for Server With Manners

Me and my two friends are looking for a server with people who have some manners, or won't kill you on sight, or have some decency. We're all veteran gamers who just started playing this mod, and after a few hours of playing we got axed by some asshole while there was major server lag and we could do nothing. I realize this is part of the game, but there's got to be a refuge server that has some grown-ups playing on it.

Me and 3 friends play the game... usually we choose servers with low population (10 - 20 players) when we don't want to be disturbed and we have not had much trouble. No matter what server you are on, there will be bandits (this game will never be trustable) but that reduces the odds significantly.

Maybe one day they will make a "grownup" server... and it will get trolled heavily :P

Kill on sight is sort of necessary (to an extent) to your survival, as long as you opening up on someone does not put you in a worse position (assuming you have the drop). It's not manners or decency... it's just playing the game. Do people have to go out of their way to kill someone who just spawned? No... but if I come across someone raiding a chopper, and I am in a position to take that person out, then I am going to. It's nothing personal, it's just survival. He could have picked up NVG, or something else that would give him an advantage over me. I want to stay in the advantage over my opponents, whether or not I shoot at them.

This game is about making decisions that put you in a position to succeed or fail, from both zombies and players. It's not about fighting fair (as long as you don't use hacks/cheats). It's about surviving.

Yeeeeeeeahhh, good luck. There are some server which say "Co-op" or "Co-op encouraged" etc etc, in their name.

But, all the same players can join, and they don't have to care about the server rules/suggestion, only DayZ rules. You cannot lock a server, you cannot password a server and you cannot "enforce" any of your own personal ideas of how the mod should be played.

Server admins are not allowed to punish peoples playing style. Or they will risk being blacklisted from the Hiveserver.

You can maybe find a non-hive server, where the admin can have greater control. Though I would not recommend it.

You just have to play it for longer and start to learn where is "safer" and where is a killzone.

Killing people for kicks, which seems to be a lot more common now, isn't banditry. That's what we call raiders. Banditry nowadays seems to be more about raiding and fun than actually getting anything important to your survival.

I just laugh when people like you play this game and think we need to placate to you so you have a good time.

It is a hardcore survival zombie PVP game. I kill anything that moves, that does not yell at me on vent. Even they aren't safe sometimes. Ask them, heh.

It's just how the game is. Like I said, even if I see you running across a field in the Northern area's, I will want to take you out. Not because I want to ruin someones night, or be a douchebag, or whatever, but because of the threat that person is to my group and myself. I take that person out then that is one less person to worry about in the northern area's to worry about. That person who may or may not attack me is still a threat that now must re-equip, and spend time running north again. That is one less threat to worry about for x-amount of time.

Besides all that, the spotting, stalking, reasoning, adrenaline rush, that goes into any encounter is like nothing any other game has given me. This open world setting makes your survival completely dependent upon you as a person and your logic, reasoning, decision making.

Today was a crazy day... I got killed 2 times and killed 2 people... and each encounter made my heart want to beat out of my chest! The fact that I could be shot dead at any second with no warning is what makes this game great!
