So i recently started playing this game, and as most people do, i died. The only thing is, ive been staring at "You are dead" for a while now. How long is this screen going to last?

Hit ESC, abort, , then Okay. You'll load in again.

Hit esc then abort. Reconnect to the game and you'll eventually reach the gender selection screen.

You have to press "esc" then hit abort and rejoin from the lobby. Also hitting "respawn" will also work.
