Matalgirrafe 65 Posted July 24, 2012 RAM seems good, the actual hard drive memory isn't that great - but for playing Day Z? Should work just fine if you don't have 7 tabs of Chrome or Firefox open.
liiSA 0 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) can i upgrade my hard drive memory? and what settings do you think it will run at? I want max! lol Edited July 24, 2012 by liiSA
eynonz@hotmail.co.uk 38 Posted July 24, 2012 RAM should be good.CPU should be good.GPU should be good. You should be able to run Medium settings at least. Not sure about anything higher though.
liiSA 0 Posted July 24, 2012 Well since that isnt max. can someone recommend a computer that i can outright BUY for this game?
CIarkness 1 Posted July 24, 2012 I wouldn't suggest you buying a computer just to max this game out. Arma II is actually a pretty high-end game. Unless you have a $1000+ budget, it will be most unlikely for you to have a computer that max it out. I have an Asus G74SX.
thisisbleep 32 Posted July 24, 2012 Even the best computers sometimes struggle to maintain high FPS, because Arma II is very poorly optimised.Decide on a budget and go from there, there is no point in buying a PC for just one game especially when that game is very old. If you buy a PC which can run Skyrim on high quality settings, then it will obviously be able to run Arma II.
brzator47@gmail.com 524 Posted July 24, 2012 No laptop is able to run this game "perfectly" at max settings. In fact, I don't think even a high end desktop could do that. Just don't bother with maxing the game out, it's not going to happen. That laptop should run the game well at decent settings. It has always been like that with BIS games. Max settings are kind of made for future hardware ;)

Alopex 46 Posted July 24, 2012 The G51JX-X3 will run the game just fine.Performance at display's native resolution (1920x1080) will be fine.I'd recommend disabling both anti-aliasing and post-processing, however, and if you are troubled with poor frame rate issues, try another server.I say this because servers should be restarted frequently, as the crap that collects on a server during up-time does have the single greatest impact on client performance (your performance), and this is the no.1 reason that people have been complaining about shoddy performance lately.TL;DR: The G51JX-X3 will play ArmA 2, and by extension, DayZ without a problem. I hope you're not paying too much for it though, as it is an outdated laptop now. (second hand I presume?)
