OLD GREGG 0 Posted July 23, 2012 I think that the addition of adding weapon attachments would add a new twist to the game.Instead of finding already decked out guns you will start finding more "blank" guns. Of course, guns with attachments on them already will still spawn, but they'd be a little more rare. In order to find attachments you'll have to raid loot spots according to how good the loot table is. Example: thermal sights and silencers will spawn in places like Stary, while things like ACOG sights and flashlights will spawn in hunting stands. Each weapon would have it's own distinct attachments that it can fit. Example: an M4A1 will fit an M203 grenade launcher, while an M14 will not. Perhaps weapon attachmens could be used as a form of currency as well. It would give an incentive for people to trade and be more realistic other than just slaughtering everyone. Which is a win win scenario.

CHOSENMARINE 43 Posted July 23, 2012 I don't think they could do that. That's why we're waiting foe Arma
Worrun (DayZ) 108 Posted July 23, 2012 Apparently in Arma 3 it will be possible :o
OLD GREGG 0 Posted July 23, 2012 Well, perhaps this thread should be stickied or archived for when ARMA 3 is released? We also could continue the thread so we'll already have really gotten some good feed back by the community by the time the idea can be realized. It will be a basic function of ArmA 3. No need to sticky this at all.

Celetrontmm 5 Posted July 24, 2012 I would still say we should come up with a big list of attachments, just because. And there should also be ways of making make-shift attachments.
Strogg 23 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Will ARMA 3 be modder friendly/moddable at all? I'd hate for everyone to be as disappointed as TW modders were when Shogun 2 was released. This game has an awesome concept, but it can only be fully realized as a standalone game rather than a mod. That way we can have everything we want without worrying about whether or not ARMA II can handle it/allow it (the very make-shifted spawning system is a good example). There are far superior engines out there available for indie development (e.g the UDK).Getting back on track, I think this would be an awesome idea. Laser sights, scopes, and silencers would make my day. Edited July 24, 2012 by Strogg
