Zombies stop chasing you after X Distance

We've all had zombies chase us for miles on end right? Wouldnt' it be an idea if after X distance from where the zombie was aggroed it stopped chasing you? for a small period of time?

That would defeat their purpose. They're a threat, and you have to avoid them or lose them. It's already easy enough to run through some bushes and dash onto the ground to crawl away, or book it through a barn or something.

Not to mention they are zombies - they want to kill you. Pretty sure they won't get bored running after you as long as you are in their sights. They are stupid enough to slow down when they lose a line of sight.
