Zombie Migration

Recommended Posts

Currently in the game zombies spawn in the cities they are in and don't move outside of them at all and it is impossible to clear a town or city because the zombies will just respawn there after an amount of time. What I am suggesting is that zombies spawn somewhere else besides the towns, such as the edge of the map or major cities, and migrate around to different places. This would make it possible to clear towns and hold them and allow zombies to appear in places outside towns like roads , fields, and forests. Zombies should be attracted to concentrations of players by the noise they make and their smell maybe. So large groupings of people such as in Electro and Cheno would attract the most zombies and make that place unlivable for humans, and as people moved out into the countryside the zombies would follow. As with animals, predators often migrate around with their prey not just sit in one spot hoping for food to come. This would make zombies more "nomadic". It would also allow for players to set up "zombie free" zones in theory, but these places would be under constant threat of zombie hoards attracted to the players. It would also encourage people to move away from the coast and inland. But I'm not sure if the game can handle tracking the zombies migrate. I guess it could just track where the hoard is and just spawn zombies when a player comes nearby.
