Things I want to see in DayZ. - (some ideas)

The ability of players to build underground bases. Locked bases with a code that is only breakable only with a rare maybe code hacking machine in the game. If the base been hacked from some players the player who has the base must be able to do something about this, cause if the other players hacked already one time the base, they will do it again and again and the base will not be a safe place for the clan or a player. If there is not a hacking machine item maybe the way for other players to invade the base is to wait for the others to appear outside the base and threat them for the code… Or,… if it is an underground base should have a pipe for the air so the others inside can breath. If the enemy find the base, it should be able to put a poison gas grenade inside the pipe to bring the others out of the base…

The ability of players to have their metal death tag in their inventory till their death. The player who kill someone must be able to keep this metal tag locked with his character even after his death.

Another ability for none bandit players could be medals of honor or something if the players help eatch other and don’t kill on site. Also this, must be locked with the player id even after his death.

Another 2 huge maps like Chernarus could make this game much better… Maybe maps with rivers…

Camo Vehicles

Helmets / bulletproofs

A more stable first person view with better aiming while moving…

The murders must be locked with player id even after his death

If the player isn’t a bandit, when he dies maybe he could have a benefit if he goes to the church when he respawns. Maybe a pray in the church should give him the half of his gear or something :D , .. if not his half gear back , maybe just a weapon and an alice pack. :beans:

Alot of these items will need to be addressed in the standalone portion of the game, when it comes. You wont see some of these in the Arma version, because its Arma. Adding large mods like your underground bases wont work in the arma engine very well.

He thinks a thread with more than one change in the idea is a "list". Kids tend to think they know everything. He will get bored and move on eventually.

Although...this thread is technically a list of ideas.

You sound real mature yourself. At least he's got a passion to contribute ideas and not spam other people's threads with rainbow colored texts.

I think you are a bit confused...I do contribute to posts and give my feedback good or bad to an idea with a reason why. He is the one posting rainbow text with Yes and No to everything with no explanation as to why. I am not bashing the OP. I have no problem with "lists" of ideas. Its just a forum rule that this other kid is posting all over the forum in each thread. Take a look at my recent idea thread on Exhaustion and Zombie speed and you will see what I mean.

If you are wondering why I have not responded to the OP regarding his idea yet it is because I am taking some time to mull his ideas over before I reply with my thoughts. I do this with most ideas as just replying with whatever first comes to mind is usually never helpful at all.

EDIT: There I took the time and made my response to his ideas.

WAY to hard to code into ArmA. Maybe if he makes it into a standalone game but it will require he code the game to allow it. We are still not aware of how he plans to make the game standalone.

I can see the collection for bragging rights part of this but otherwise what is the point?

How would this be determined without being exploitable? Really just another collection idea for bragging rights. Doesn't really help refine the game much. Not opposed to it but there are bigger fish to fry right now.

There are many maps created for ArmA 2 but they are mod maps created by other players. Usually very buggy and with a game thats already very buggy...well...you see where I am going. I am sure in time we will get a bigger map. Probably not going to happen unless DayZ is ported to ArmA 3 though. ArmA 2 can support a map size I think up to around 500 sq/km with no issues but it's a lot of information for the server to load up. The devs would also have to take said map and mod it for all the spawn points again just like the current map. Thats A LOT of work. Keep in mind this game is still in Alpha...meaning early testing...for now the current map is all we need.

Camo Vehicles

Sure...why not? They exist and there are even better ones made by the mod community. It just means getting them into the DayZ mod with no issues. I am all for a larger vehicle selection within reason.

Helmets / bulletproofs

Yeah. I made a thread about bringing armor into the game for protection against bandits just to make survivability against bandits better. Refinement on the idea is needed but armor is a good idea if you ask me.

This is really an issue with ArmA. I think there are mods out there that change the first person view so it doesn't bob so much when moving. It's a bit ubsurd right now and tends to make me sick when I play on forced first person servers. It should be toned down quite a bit.

I think the idea behind tracking the murders is to show your "accomplishments" within your life before you die. If you wish to do this for other means then it would need to be explained as to why. Otherwise I am not sure there is much point.

This isn't too bad of an idea. Would allow non-bandit players a chance to respawn someplace other than the beach with a better chance to find good gear and get up and going faster. Would be a good reward for not shooting everybody on site. The problem I see with this is bandits that will abuse this to their favor by getting friends to kill them or just running into Cherno until someone shoots them to get a better spawn. Refinement on the idea is needed but it's worth discussing in my opinion.

Vertisce i'll explain to you this idea a bit better...

I think there must be a separation to bandits and normal players who kill only in defence..

For this to happen , i think the murders of a player should be visible even after his death, cause when a bandit dies the murders dissapeared and he began as a normal one in respawn.

If the murders are locked to the player id the bandits could not have any benefit from ''the church thing for example'' on the other way if a bandit decide to become friendly and quit the bandit playstyle it should be an option for this in the game (reset character or something). The kills to become a bandit could be around 10-15 for example but also the friendly ones will have the same counter and if the friendlies reach this number only by self defence, they should have an option to reset the number of killing without dying the character and avoid become a bandit.

Well, this option is the issue in this case and im out of ideas for this atm... maybe its not a good idea after all... dont know...

Another thing i had in mind is the karma counter... The players should see the other players karma before shooting eatch other...
