The Rock (DayZ) 6 Posted July 23, 2012 In NL 17 server everyone was teleported to the NW airfield and fired upon. My friends luckily alt F4'd on the right time so they all live, i hope the other people did that as well.In US 477 there was a guy in full military clothes including helmet(NOT DAYZ outfit!!!) shooting with a M249 and spawning himself close to players. I killed him once his name was Maggi, and before i could loot him i got shot again by the same weapon. Luckily he is actually a horrible shooter, so he missed most of it(really with a M249 200 round clip 10 meters away?????) so i could Alt F4. So many hackers today what the fuck is going on. It is ruining everything. Please rocket make a standalone DayZ that has NOTHING to do with ArmA2 and BattlEye. This absolutley SUCKS
Ragotag 29 Posted July 23, 2012 Sadly, with the recent Ban lift all of those script bunnies have returned with a vengeance; so it will take a while for them to get hunted down again and re-banned. Just about all multiplayer games that support modding at the level that Arma II does has these problems with script hackers; the best solution is to adapt the Arma II engine with the DayZ mod design and make it a new stand alone game executable that does not support mods at all -- problem mostly solved. Unfortunately, Arma II or the DayZ mod itself is either currently not designed to support signed (encrypted) scripts or the server bandwidth and processing requirements to implement signed scripts is simply too high to make such a feasible solution. It also does not help that Battleye is only black-listing hacker scripts, not white-listing as well; because of this the script bunnies can easily get around Battleye making Battleye fairly ineffective at this point. This is not to say that Battleye itself is the problem, just that Battleye has too many limitations dealing with a game engine that fully supports client-side execution of mod scripts on game servers -- scripts that aren't signed by the mod developer and can do just about anything the script bunnies want them to do. This is a limitation on the Arma II/DayZ mod side more than anything else that is effectively tying Battleye's hands.Hopefully, a better strategy will be implemented for the beta release. PerfectExceeder 0 Posted July 23, 2012 I actually ran into this guy on Klen. He was just beside me, i think 10 meters away, when he opened fire on me (he was using a LMG, so a M240, M249 or 48 Mod). I ran all the way from the top of the mountain to around 800 meters south of Olsha (the town).Every time i sat down in a bush or a pinetree he knew exactly where i was and was about 10 meters away continuously opening fire and throwing grenades.Luckily this Maggi was a lousy shot because he wasn't able to hit me once during the entire chase. My buddy, The Rock was on the server with me, i asked him if he could come to me to get this guy as i expected someting fishy about the way he was playing. At some point i managed to get a good look and it was clear he was hacking due to the gear he was wearing.Because it was clear this guy was transporting i disconnected and just a few seconds later my friend who was north of NE Airfield got shot at with the same gun. He could have never gotten there that quick, it was around 1,5 km away from where i got shot. The Rock managed to kill him and after a few minutes went to check the body, when he was there, he got shot again bij an LMG.
