Are castles dangerous?

After dying I head there's some guns and food at a castle but before I head there I would like to know if castles are usually full of bandits or zombies if they are please tell me!

I'm not giving out the castle of which i'm heading just in-case someone wants hunt me down

There are zombies there and there is usually people there. I died at a castle on a server with 5 players including me. What are the odds huh :P

Usually u can find binoculars there and maybe weapons.

they can be a hotspot sometimes, and zombies will most likely be there too, make sure you have a weapon the risk should more or less go, like it does for most other places, the only thing to watch out for is that they can be frequently visited however i personally haven't run into anyone there.

I never had any problems with castles until the other day when our team got ambushed by 5 players at Zub. We ended up stuck at the top in a stand off. We made our way down and then 2 of them gosted to the top of the tower to trick us, bastards. We killed them all.

Up until the last patch, castles were a good (i.e. relatively safe) place to find camo and ghillie suits, so they usually had a decent amount of foot-traffic. Currently both of these items are not dropping in-game, so it's not an issue until this is fixed.

When alone, avoid Devils Castle. Usually there are lots of bandits inbetween the "Stari Sobor- NW Airfield - Devils Castle Triangle" if the server is high populated. Personally i think the loot is not worth the approach. Weapons spawn in Deer Stands and civilian weapons like Makarov, Crossbows, Double Barrel Shotgun and Winchester spawn in Barns and Houses.

What you mean ? they are bugged ? Why are people finding ghillie suits on livestreams ?

Castles are residential loot so if not having a picnic trip why bother?
