Someone to start a server sticky for... (long)

I am new to Arma and Arma II admin'n and I can do it a little but, I am not great at it as I am with other games.

Is there someone that can tell more admins maybe like myself on how to properly manage a server.

I can read lots of different posts and piece it all together but, wouldnt it nicer if someone could take the time

and tell it in one post? And it would be here for this game?=D Some of you admins may have no idea how spread out all this information is on how to do things

in the day to day world of being an admin. And the amount of testing and re-reading that goes into trying to make it work for me.

But I would say to be general and tell things like this but, not just this...

Explain how to update the new script.txt files as they come in. And how to scan what file for the types of violations that

we can ban for and things like that. Things that make basic day to day admin'n easier for the people that havent been doing

this type of admin'n as long. Tell things like is there a way to scan in BERcon for scripters or how do you do it in your day to day

life of admin'n.

Tips and Tricks and day to day stuff that may pop up and how to get better at it. =D

I was suprised when I saw things on how not to abuse being an admin and saw nothing on how to be a better admin by being proactive on this and that.

I am just putting it out there broadly and hoping you understand what I am saying. =D

I am used to doing it for servers in other games but, its more cut and dry when I can see them as they do it and not have to search

through tons of logs and things like that. I wish to run a better server to stop things and aside from waiting for them to do and then

searching through the files and then laying a ban down it can take a few minutes instead I hear others can do it in a lot less then that.

Tell those things and make it a sticky for others to be able to learn the same thing.

I am trying not to be so noob but, I cant help feeling behind the ball with all the searching I am doing trying to come up to speed on what I should be doing

and how I can do it faster and better then I feel I am doing it now.
