How can you tell if people are cheating?

Every time I step foot into elektrozavodsk I get killed. I can come from the hills, Cherno, and Otmet side and I always get sniped. I can always hear the sniper shot every time even If i am in a building and get hit through a window.

Snipers tend to be very loud. I'd be more worries about hackers if you wouldn't hear the shot. Some servers have snipers just laying on the hills around Elektro 24/7. It's not a good idea to linger around there. xP

It is everywhere including in the city. I was on top of the hospital building laying down and I was hit.

Unfortunately, playing on populated servers will often mean being prayed on by snipers if you happen to be anywhere within the vicinity of the two largest cities in Chernogorsk (Cherno and Elecktro). Most of the time, these snipers probably aren't hackers, just opportunistic bandits.

I recommend staying away from those areas if the server population is anything over 15, and alternatively heading inland.

Tip: If you go into towns, especially Electro, avoid any open areas, and if you have to go through a open area then you should run otherwise you're easy target. avoid roofs and windows. and you will be fine. i have not had any problems with snipers

Prime targets are:

any roof

Office building can easely be taken out through the windows from hill side.

Firestation avoid any and all windows

Stores (when entering or exiting)

never had a problem with snipers in elekto or cherno. i have had more problems with other players in and around the buildings than i have with snipers. been playing for a while now and am still yet to find 1 sniper rifle lol. yet i could find an FN FAL :s

Its once again a choice you make. Do you go into Cherno or Elektro and get easy and quick supplies (well sometimes anyway) but with a high risk of getting shot. These days its even more dangerous with the snipers camping it sometimes. Or do you walk the distance and go north, picking up supplies along the way.

Best to look for a general route you make when you are freshly spawned and follow it every time untill you are decently equipped and able to make some new goals.

Which route to take you will have to figure out on your own, my general experience is that following someones elses path is by far not as fun as making your own.

If you hear the round, doesn't that mean you survived it?

afaik if you get shot by the sniper you never actually hear the round going off... Could just be me
