It sounds like not all of the game assets required are being loaded in. Are you starting the game with Six Updater?

Okay, you might want to try validating your ArmA 2 and ArmA 2: OA installations with Steam. (Right click the title in your steam games list -> Left click 'properties' -> Left click 'local files' tab -> left click 'Verify integrity of game cache...')

After doing this, launch both games through Steam (you can close them once they have successfully launched), then attempt to update via Six Updater, then launch, as you usually would. Hopefully this resolves your problem. If you run into any issues along the way, or if Steam reports that any files fail validation and need to be reacquired (this is good sign), be sure to post the details here. :)
