My First Time

Before any of you asks wheres the porn story, no this is not a description of my first time in bed, lol. Just a story about my first experience playing Dayz for 10 minutes before i went to work (yeah, sadly i lasted 10 minutes)

There i was, don't remember what town i spawned near but there were 2 docks and a crane, with some kind of warehouse near it all, and then more south, maybe 2 minutes run or something, there was a lot of small houses that you couldn't enter. But there i was! First serious first time (first 3 times before this was just trying to learn controls and it was dark so i couldn't do anything). Started to crawl/crouch around for maybe a minute/ minute and a half down the coast ninjaing past zombies making their weird groaning noises. Took a 2 minute swim in the ocean to avoid the zombies and go to this little port place to find myself a weapon. BAM! peaked around a corner and saw 3 zombies sprinting like they were running in the Olympics chasing this 1 guy in the distance by some storage containers and watched the guy narrowly lose them somehow. Found some soda and bandages laying around in this security checkpoint entrance to the port and spied the warehouse. I sprinted inside the warehouse and found me an AXE! Kick ass i thought, maybe now i can actually do something with myself. Well, i was wrong.

I thought i had aggroed a zombie while running to the wearhouse so i waited on the catwalk upstairs waiting to let him know what was up, while waiting i looked out the window into the surrounding field past the dock and DAYYYYYUUUUUM! I counted like 15 zombies withing 50 feet of eachother and i was like really? how the hell am i supposed to get around in this damn world... Well, i made it like a minute of crouching before i aggroed 1 zombie, decided to sprint for a building since i heard it forces them to walk, but to no avail. In the process of running for my life i aggroed 2 more zombies for a total of 3. Reaching a secluded spot in the middle of the field (checked to make sure the only zombies around were the 3 chasing me) i then told them what was up and gave them a beat down. Success!! I lived and was feeling pretty badass, i looted some m1911 ammo off a zombie and continued my journey on the coast for a while until i took another swim to that little village/farm community i meantioned before.

Now, even though you're probably wondering why im swimming everywhere, it was to stay away from zombies in the fields so they wouldnt see me. After reaching the farming town i hid in a little corner because there were 2 zombies literally right next to me, 1 actually chased me 5 feet but once i hit the corner, it instantly turned around and walked away as if i was completely non-existent, another kick ass moment for me. Sadly, it was short lived as in trying to make my escape from the town (there were like no buildings what so ever to enter...) i aggroed 2 more zombies, ran for the coast and in an attempt to fend them off again with my axe, 1 knocked me on my ass and continued to eat me until i bled out and died...

Well, it was a fun and eventful 10 minutes and i understand now why people want to group up so badly, lol. Only saw 1 person throughout this journey and that was the guy being chased by the storage containers. We stopped and staired at each other from like a football field away but i got scared and booked lol.

the one thing that got to me was, when looking out of the window and looking at all the zombies, within such a small area there was only maybe 10-15 feet between one zombie and the next? How is it even possible to get around in the world without attracting so much attention? Or maybe because it might have been because there was more than 1 person in the areA?

Well there was at least 1 other guy there, but 15 idle doesn't sound so bad. Just use your axe to take out the ones you agroed and crawl away.

It just sucks though cause when you're trying to beat down 2 zombies, the axe only does so much. It's not like a gun where it's 1 bullet and they're dead. it sucks.

But bullets attract other zombies, axes don't.

That's the plus side of using an axe, but you're also getting beat down by a zombie/zombies while you're attacking them and once you get beyond a certain point with blood they can just knock your lights out and its all over. Idk.
