FPS Lag

Recommended Posts

So I have seen several topics about lag but none of them really helped me.

The thing is, I think my pc should be able to handle DayZ but when i go to cities my fps drops to 20/30 and outside of cities it's something between 30 and 80 FPS. It doesn't really matter on which settings I play, the fps pretty much stays the same on every settings.

I have the steam version, have the latest beta patch installed and I use six launcher to start the game.

Specs:

Processor: AMD FX™-8120 Eight-Core Processor (8 CPUs), ~3.9GHz

Memory: 4096MB RAM

Video card: XFX Radeon HD 6870

Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.120503-2030)

Running the game on my SSD.

So is this problem hardware related or do i need certain settings to make it work with my system?

I am using a 6870 (sapphire), and a Phenom II x4 955. If I stay in cherno or elektro for more then 20 minutes, my FPS goes down to 15 or less, it will go back up to 60+ if I restart it. I don't know why, I even change video setting down to minimum but that only changes it from 15 to 17 or so.

I have the latest drivers etc.
