Hey I am new to Dayz, loving the game thus far... however myself any my brother recently bought this game hoping to avoid hacks/cheaters in the game. Tonight at 2110 hours (9:10PM) Atlantic time myself and my brother were near Novy Sobor. At that time myself and my brother were on server US171. We were traveling through a field at the time and suddenly our legs were broken. As soon as my legs and my brothers leg's were broken we could hear "Somebody is in the bear trap go get him," through in game voice chat. However when we looked around the only thing that was visible was a rabit that was moving in our direction. We both had over 11 thousand blood and it didn't make sense. No bear traps were observed. We both used morphine, and my brother's legs were broken a second time only after few sections once the rabit moved to his location. At that time we loged out as we assumed that someone was hacking the sever.

I understand that there are hackers in every game/mod created. I am not overly versed in computer literacy and identifying hackers. This just seemed to out of the norm in terms of how we had our legs broken.

Thought I'd report this issue in case this truely is a hack.

Hmmmm, difficult to say.

It doesn't hurt to mention it, I would suppose... But there ARE bear traps with the latest patch... And I have read that they are bugged kinda like tents so when you pick them back up, it's like they are still there... So maybe...

Local voice is a number of meters, so it could have been a hidden person talking on direct. ... Or maybe haxx0rzzz

why does everyone throw around wierd hacking/cheating theories when some random bug occurs.

bear traps seem to be bugged right now.

we had this few days ago.

placed bear trap, instant broken leg, fixed it, instant broken leg again.

seems to do AoE damage, and it seems to be permanent and not one-time-use.

report the bug (bug tracker), move on.

you definitely could be right about it simply being a bug. The only thing I forgot to mention was that the rabit was moving at a ridiculous fast speed... and it "appeared" to be following us. I don't think that anyone was near us as we were in the middle of a field. I would hope that it is a simple bug. People that hack others just to ruin thier game experience is sad. I've been overly impressed by this game over the few weeks ive been watching videos. My girlfriend has taken an intrest in this game and is planning on getting it. I'm happy to rip her away from Terraria and get her on a decent game with inovative mechanics.

Any which way, again appreicate any responses that people may have regarding this matter.
