Custom DayZ map in the future?

I hope so chernarus is getting old fast, I would like to see alarger map with more areas to explore

i'm hopeful for multiple different custom maps. ideally i'd like to see an area of earth made into a map/maps, preferably incorporating the area i live in. i'm also kind of hopeful for community generated maps, though i could see this being abused unless there is restrictions imposed either via the stand alone's engine, or some sort of analysis/vetting process from the developers. it does also bring up an issue with moving a character from map to map when you switch servers running different maps though.

I guess we could end up with chernarus being the start map, and once you travel outside it's boundaries you move to another "instance" on the same server (on all servers) and it's a new map / extension. So you could travel a lot further and effectively have a 450km squared map. or more even.
