Is a server with its own private hive not bannable?

I've seen a lot of servers who just lock and farm gear, I don't think that's right. I bunch of friends and I want to just let it be just ourselves, we don't want to cheat anybody. Would running a server with a private hive server be the way to fix this problem? How do you run a private hive server, is it even allowed?

Well, all they can do is blacklist your server from the HIVE, but obviously that doesn't affect a private hive in any way.

If you search, or use google, you can find the information fairly quickly.

You can't get banned for a private Hive.

Not sure how the devs think about them anyway.
