Need Help Surviving :P

Hey guys! This is my first post on the DayZ forums. To the point!

Like most people, I got ARMA: 2 CO on the Steam summer sale. I am still in my first life, but I need help.

I spawned near a small coastal town (try'd locating it on a map on teh interwebz but I couldn't find it) and I met up with some other new guy, we were about to go in for loot, when a zombie starts chasing me and we get separated. I haven't seen him since.

After a close encounter with some bandits who chased me into the ocean, (lost my patrol pack) I start scavenging. I found a hatchet and some Pepsi, which I drank to save my life (water was flashing) I look around some more and some zombie starts chasing me and hits me, I kill the zombie and bandage myself up (11000 blood left) and I kill another zombie unharmed, hoping there is some beans on him, which there is not. Another encounter with zombies brings me down to 9500 blood.

I am now just outside of the town with my food red, but not flashing. I have already survived about 75 minutes, above the average of 49. Should I go back into the town or look for a deer stand?

Stay away from towns. Find deer stands and farms. Use maps for that. http://dayzdb.com/map#4.036.123

Farms are good for well water and some weapons.

not sure exactly but i heard you have a few minutes when it starts flashing before it starts taking effect hurting you, if you know where you are or can find it its probably best to go back into the city, crouch and hold shift to walk, behind zombies and silently kill them chances are they have food, or the buildings in town do, i've never had such luxuries of finding what i need when i need it, so i scrounged up an axe, hunting knife and matches and just lived off of animals

don,t be scared of towns you need to find match's and a knife and you will beset to live in woods if u die it happens GL HF

Thanks :) I'll probably do one last run through the town for food and supplies, then look for deer stands and farms.
