Catching an Infection? What do you think?

Rocket just posted that and some of the added features point towards being able to catch an infection also by other players too.

What are your thoughts and opinions on this?

wish rocket would explain the whole temperature and infection thing a bit

I'm sure when the patch is released he will. For me it all sounds like things are gonna get a little more confusing and that I'm going to really need to manage my inventory space since now I need to somehow collect wood for my fires and probably some kind of antidote or medicine for infections

I hope matches become a bit more common if a fire is the only way to stay warm. I wonder if there is going to be a new item, like penicillin or something to cure infections, it would make hospitals that much more valuable. Could also be found in grocery stores, but it should be less likely to find them there.

More stuff to do! Yay! The more survival stuff the better, keeps pesky survivors and bandits alike on their toes and forces them to do something other than deathmatch.

Both the temperature and infection thing seem cool, the temperature/weather effects thing moreso.

Awww man, i was hoping it'd be zombie infection... I would be down to have a small chance of turning to zombie after i got pummeled by zombies but got away. Become one of them, and try to hunt down survivors or find friendly who can cure me :)

I think it's probably more along the lines of just selecting a fire and hitting (add wood), not actually harvesting wood. It was probably just added so fires don't burn forever, say if you left your campfire and forgot it, so you wouldn't be able to make another unless you back tracked all the way to your last fire and put it out.

infection from wounds = nice idea.

infection from zombies = nice but dangerous, it forces players together, might change a lot the game experience

infection from cold = bah, not really realistic, would be better to insert a body temperature parameter

I wonder how much money I would make selling gimp masks with "DAYZ" printed on them to all of the 40 masochists who still enjoy playing this mod when all of this stuff is implemented.

I'm just starting to see way too many things to focus on in 1.5.8. Could just be me but dont really want to have to manage every little cough or cold i get.

I think the ultimate goal is to kill all of us. And this is fine. It's not about having uber loot, it's about surviving, people are losing sight of that.

I'd love to see dead bodies just randomly on the map with tons of loot because the died of a common cold.

This should turn out to be some sick twisted version of Pandemic..........but reversed.
