Zexis 127 Posted July 22, 2012 Rofl. Your fault for trusting him. As to why he did it? When people get the highest tier gear, many get bored and start to hunt other players.

vanden1989 15 Posted July 22, 2012 Funny,a second a go a met a guy at Elektro church telling me there were a ghillie guy nearby with basically everything you listened. Then the ghillie guy found us and we three teamed up and went to the Firestation close to the market, but then the ghillie guy disapeared and me and the other guy waited for him. Then suddenly the other one disapeared too.
Mercator 30 Posted July 22, 2012 Increasing murders count. It's what this game is about. You could be right. Just about every fella I know in real life, that was interested in the game, was going like "Ooh, yeah! I'm gonna be the baddest mofo for sure!". Not one of them was interested in the survival aspect of the game. To expand on that, I'll have to add that these are without exception the playstation, xbox, cod, bf3 types. Worrun (DayZ) 108 Posted July 22, 2012 once i respawned and rushed to cherno just because there was no risk to lose anything and then 3 high geared people appeared..they said "follow us we will help you" i followed them to the factory area on a high building.. after we reached the roof they said "jump off the roof or we will shoot you"i felt so embarassed :(IRL I guess the only people that would do this sort of shit are the inbred rednecks you see on the hills have eyes and stuff. Other normal people would most likely want to pair up and help one another.
Cerven 80 Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) You could be right. Just about every fella I know in real life, that was interested in the game, was going like "Ooh, yeah! If you go to ANY game's forum, they have some game they like to throw at you when you're not doing what they want you to do. For CoD I'm sure it's World of Warcraft or something, in WoW it's probably Counter Strike or Rift or some other game. What does this prove exactly? Are you superior to someone else because they play the game differently than you?The problem is that the 'Survival' aspect of this game is a literal joke if you strip the PvP away. When's the last time you died of starvation or thirst? Recently? If you've been playing this game for over a week and this happens to you regularly, I don't know what to tell you. The zombies are easily manipulated and lost, and the food/water system is extremely easy to manage. So what's left? Killing other players and getting killed by them. This elitist 'survival > pvp' mentality is just as obnoxious as the guys who brag about murdering new players on the beach. Until more survival mechanics are implemented, the game is going to continue to be played this way. People who embrace it aren't bad, morally bankrupt, or childish. They're just playing the damn game. Edited July 22, 2012 by Cerven

They're just playing the damn game.Hi there, fella ;) ,Seems my post rubbed you the wrong way there...sorry 'bout that. But let's clarify a few things, okay? Firstly, these are friends of mine I was talking about. They themselves have absolutely no troubles describing themselves as more of the "instant action on a very easy platform" type of guys. And these are adults with wives and children I'm talking about, so why should I restrain myself from refering to them as "playstation, xbox, cod, bf3 types"? Even though that's not my preferred gaming style, I'm more of a sim guy, I still go out on saturday nights for drinks with them. They might not get how I can spend 2 hours navigating an airplane through a storm and try to land it in the fog (they refer to me as the sim nerd :D )...but we get along fine, understand? Secondly, I consider surviving encounters with other players as much a part of the survival aspect of this game, as I do surviving zombies! That should be easy enough to understand, no?I have always said that Arma is a game with such an amount of freedom, that the players themselves become responsible for how the game is played. Not the devs, they just provide the platform. I don't see this mod as any different.Goodday, sir.
