Something starters should read.

Recommended Posts

Its been one month since I've heard of Day Z. I knew the Arma franchise and it never got my attention.

With Day Z though, that changed.

So fortunetaly the past week were the steam sales and Arma II Combined Operations was on 20% discount and I had the chance to buy it, I really wanted Day Z.

Since I've never played Arma II on my life or any Arma games I started out completely out of blank (two days ago). I saw some videos, explored controls, read some threads, etc.

When I got the hold of the controls and mechanics I started Day Z. I spawned near a village on Chernarus I think (not really sure).

I thought that in that village I might find some weapons, nope, just DEATH and some supplies nothing really really useful, only zombies.

The best advice I can give to all starters like me is to stay off shore. I've tried twice to loot near villages and warehouses on shore, and nothing really.

Run into the wild, to the deep forest and find some barn or even a military base.

Today I've started a new character (got sniped yesterday running from zombies) and I run straight into the jungle only to find a ridable truck, a motorcycle,

a marksman rifle and lots and lots of supplies in military tents. Deep in the forest.

Don't you dare give up on your life son!

Cumpz,

Razart

i just got the game a few days ago and ive learned some really good spots.. (i play solo and had to find out on my own)

first use this: http://dayzdb.com/map its very useful for finding loot and other things

second for a noob go to cherno or elektro for high risk high reward.. easy to get everything

use that map and check hospital for medic supplies, military for awesome weapons, grocery store for food and backpack

now theres usually rampaging killers in these major cities so its high risk GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!

third would be check dear stands and farm loot locations for good weapons that are safe from bandits however deer stands have 3 zombie guards

forth getting ax, matches, and hunting knife is essential for solo player.. you cant do blood transfusion on yourself but cooked meat gives you 800 bloods

so not to jinx you but if you die again hopefully my little bit of knowledge can help you

Best way to do it is follow the Quickstart Cherno or Elektro from DayZ GuideZ on youtube, then head North. Gives you a good start if you don't die, and if you do, just respawn and try again. Once you are North, then you can be paranoid out of your mind like everyone else.
