Committing Suicide?

I saw a thread earlier of quite the "robbing" in DayZ. 32 individuals (from what I gathered from the thread) had one (unarmed) man hostage. I heard several claim they would have dced from that situation.

What if instead, you just respawn? You're now safely away from the gang of bandits relatively no worse for the wear. I understand if you weren't unarmed you would have far more incentive to try defending yourself, but with nothing to lose, is there really anything to lose?

I'm curious as to peoples feeling on something like this. Were you unarmed and outnumbered by individuals whose intent were to harass and mug you, would you end it right there? Would you go along with the mugging until you're dead? Would you dc and find a new server?

I'd stick around because it would be interesting. Maybe I could get a hold of a gun somehow and take some with me.

i'd try to get a gun or at the very least try to get some zombies to harass them before i died. No reason to let them off easy

I seriously doubt you'll ever get a true reflection on what people actually do because I doubt all those who DC will come here to admit it in a public poll lol.

If this were to happen to me, I'd stick around to see how the experience pans out.

If I were one of the muggers however... I'd respawn so the unarmed man wouldn't kill me.
