A question regarding multiple Steam accounts

Recommended Posts

Let's say I have:

1 PC

1 Steam installation folder with Arma 2 CO

2 different Steam accounts with Arma 2 CO

If I launch that "secondary" Steam account and join some server, will it create a fresh new character bound to that account, or do I have to play with my character from my "main" account?

Thanks in advance!

Nope. But it will if you use each steam account in a different Windows account.

So it will also work if I use some stuff like Virtual PC?

Thanks for your reply, too.

You can change cd keys on the fly by importing/exporting registry files (You don't even have to log into different steam accounts or any steam account to play on a particular key once it's set up). Changing a cdkey is as simple as double clicking on a file on your desktop - however I wouldn't really recommend it unless you know what you're doing.

Sacriel42 has a video going into more detail on his youtube channel. If you decide to follow his instructions make sure you run steam as administrator because he doesn't mention that (or he did and I missed it).

You would need to uninstall your Arma (Steam account #1) and install the game again (Steam account #2).

Follow

for how to switch between multiple accounts.

Then you could play with different accounts on the same pc.

You only need Am2 and OA installed once, see here.

I just found this out myself. You can just log in to steam and launch arma, then exit. Then it would be set to play with that cdkey then. To shortcut the method you export the cd keys from registry then run whatever one you want to use.

Steam actually overwrites the cd keys if you launch arma 2 on the desired account .
