Hi there, I just tried every way possible to install updates for DayZ to the latest. I have installed using DayZ Commander, Six Launcher, Manual installs using the ARMA2_OA_Build_95168 zip file, and have just now tried installing beta 95208. All servers (on Arma 2: combine operations opened with admin privileges from steam with admin privileges) are RED, showing they need version 1.62 and I for some reason have 1.60! Note I can join any server with DayZ Commander but with that I have to reopen the game every single time.

Any hints on what to do next?

You need to launch the game through the beta shortcut, not steam, or it will just launch the latest stable patch.

Steam user: copy the arma2oa.exe from /Expansion/beta/ into the /arma 2 operation arrowhead/ folder and override the existing one. You need to do this with every beta patch you install.

Or you create a separate shortcut for DayZ in Steam with the proper start parameters. See here, Step 8.

Okay first it wasn't getting DayZ to work it was getting the right version to show up. Secondly I tried step 8 and it said [Addon 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_Dubbing_Counterattack'] then runs and crashes with the error [Error creating Direct3D 9 Graphical engine] sooooooooo that solution was interesting haha

I released a new version of DayZ Commander today that handles overwriting the original arma2oa.exe file with the beta arma2oa.exe so that launching with steam works. Look for the new setting in the "settings" panel.
