hunting knife suggestion

Recommended Posts

make it useable as a wepon

and also make it throwable

if DayZ were to happen IRL a lot of people would be carrying knifes and use them when they had the drop on someone, or use them for hunting to save on ammo, would add to the game, just make the throwing distance 10-15 meters max

EDIT:

for those who dont scroll down and read all the posts following this one i also state the it should have a roll like the passing out with blood loss

sometimes the kife will land a damage wound where they bleed/die, or the blunt edge/handle will hit for a stun, as stated above it would be handy for hunt, cows and pigs tend to not run because they are domestic animals, and are used to humans approching them and fear nothing, if ur corner buy a zed or a player, and all u have is a bandage, painkillers, torch and a knfie, would u want to be able to use the knife in someway to defend yourself or distract ur enemy so u can get away to safety?

Go outside and try to accurately throw a knife, it's very difficult for anyone, no matter how well trained you are. and if by some reason you can, you'd be hard pressed to actually do damage, considering about 80% - 90% of the knife would do no damage.

still would be a good distraction, even if u lose the knife, wouild make other players dodge/evade giveing u half a chance to run for safety

they have the passing out effect with blood loss, so put something like that with knife throws where theres a chance that the handle will hit most of the time, but it will stun the other person/zed/animal for a second giving u much needed time to swap weps or run

EDIT:

also if all u had was a kitchen draw full of knifes and this kinda thing went down, im pretty sure u'd grab em all and throw them at hostiles if need be, imagein a big heavy cleaver throw at ur head, even if the blunt side hit u the weight of it would stun u for a second and allow a person to come in and spil ya guts

I suppose, maybe it would have a 60 - 80% chance to briefly stun and a 40 - 20% to damage.

thats all im saying, doesnt need to be a "1 shot wep" just something else to aid survival, adds another level of realisum

maybe 1 in 3 million knife throws is perfect and lands right beteen the eyes for instant kill, lol

Would I want to throw my precious knife so someone can dodge it? Hell no. Would I want to use knife to kill infecteds? Hell no, I wouldn't go that near to them. Would you?

when u first spawn and u dont have a gun, or an axe and the only thing u have found is a knife, it would come in handy if u are cornered in a building, id rather be able to use my knife to do some damage then nothing at all in that situation

also i seem to find knifes everywhere so if i throw it im not worryed ill get another soon enough

your reasoning is a bit weird though, the knife pick seems arbitrary.... if you merely want to stun then you could throw a car wheel, scrap metal or a toolbox at someone as well.

You can't throw a knife effectively to kill. You want to throw something at someone, grab a goddamn rock and use the knife as a melee weapon.
