Third Person and flashlight

I'm very new, I just started.

It's in the middle of the night and is very dark, I try to use my Flashlight by hitting L on my keyboard and nothing happens. I see my flashlight when I press G, how do I use it?

Also, when I hit NUMLOCK it doesn't make me third person, I looked at my controls and I can't find it they are set to default.

I'm on a regular DayZ server.

The enter button on the num lock section is third person.

To use the flash light you must equip by right clikcing the flash light and click remove from tool belt. Then when its armed you press L to turn it on.

Right click on your flashlight and click take out of tool belt or something like that. And to make it third person, it's enter on the number pad

Not all servers have third-person view enabled, so it does not work on some/most.

When you are new to DayZ you should maybe try a server where it is currently daylight.

Gameplay at night is more difficult by several magnitues.

You hit numlock? Try "enter" on the numpad.
