How to use blood pack?

I know it must be administrered by a friend, but for the life of me I cant figure out how. I saw a youtube video, and they have that little actions menu pop up on the left side.. but that doesnt happen to me?

You have it in your inventory, then you look at your friend and scroll with your mousewheel, choose tranfuse.

If its in your bag, you cant use it. Take it from your bag and put it into your active inventory. Then you can use it.

Scroll up or down with the mouse wheel while looking at your friend and it should show up.
