Steam overlay and Six Launcher/DayZ Commander

Recommended Posts

they both have an option to launch the game through steam, however, when I do so, i always stick on "wait for host". If i kill the game, disable that feature and try again on the same server, i can connect without trouble.

I've gone so far as to move the beta exe over the original and so forth, all with no luck. Maybe someone knows the trick to make it work?

@Kry:

That is completely irrelivant to steam or not. It's mostly server dependant but there are a LOT of poeple that get stuck on "wait for host" screen. With or without steam (for example, myself. I get stuck there and I never launch through steam)

It clearly isn't. I can connect just fine with it disabled, if i enable it, the same exact server no longer responds. I spent about 4 hours trying to sort it out. Roughly 50 connection attempts in total. With steam on, 100% failure to connect, with it off 100% success. There is something more going on here, I suspect it's related to the beta patch.

I am aware the problem exists beyond the scope of this as well, we've all had it. I was merely warning that I've had zero success connecting to any of the 3 servers I normally connect to when I enable launching through steam.

I am having the exact same problem.

it would be nice for steam to work to use the overlay browser for maps, instead of alt tabbing.

Six Launcher automaticlly installs beta patches, you probably need to insert "-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" (without " ) into your steam launch options if you want six launcher to lauch it through steam.

Yeah had to change it to that and it worked. I also copied the arma2oa from expansion/beta into the main folder.

seen it in another thread which suggested it to work.

but yeah, steam is working fine now thank.s

the six point launcher does offer a better browser than the arma2 one though.
