Run combined operations.

Through steam, right click on Operation Arrowhead and go to 'Launch Combined Operations."

It would help us understand you easier if you told us what kind of launcher you are using.

Is this your first time running Arma2/DayZ?

the error message listed in your topic does not mean that you need to delete files.

so, you have now likely deleted files that arma II or OA needs, to able to run in the first place.

the message means that it is not finding files which you need to play the game.

re-install arma II, and OA, and the beta. d/l the latest patch (from this site or using any of the launchers [ six launcher for example ])

launch steam as admin, and run OA as combined operations once.

now run (or use launcher) to run Combined OPS.

You aren't missing it... This is a fairly common problem. You need to run Combined Operations. If you are running Combined Operations, then you either;

A. Have to run Arma2 Regular, Close it, then Run Arma2 Operation Arrowhead, Close it, then attempt to run Combined Operations,

OR

B: Reinstall your Arma2 and Arma2 Operation Arrowhead.

Please tell us what launcher you are using. Are you using Steam, or are you using the retail version of Arma2?

Okay, so its likely the problem you are not running the Arma2 Beta, Right? It doesn't sound like you have it setup through steam to run the Arma2 beta for Combined Operations to play DayZ.

You know how to fix it then? :-)

Well, I am making sure THATS what is going on before I explain to you how to get the beta to run through steam.

Have you installed the Arma2 Beta yet?

Well, of course you have. You wouldn't be able to enter any servers without it. Let alone get a error message :3

Okay. Let me explain how I got the beta to work for me through steam. I am assuming you bought Combined Operations Through Steam.

Right click on Operation Arrowhead, go down to Properties.

Go to Set Launch Options.

Put this line of code in. -beta=Expansion\beta;ca;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@DayZ;ca -nosplash -window

Close that down.

Now, Go into your steam folder. most likely in c:/Program Files (x64)/Steam/steamapp/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead/

You will see Arma2OA exe. Copy that and paste it in the same folder. Do not copy and replace, simply make a second exe. Arma2OA - Copy should be the file.

Now, In the same folder, continue to Expansion/beta

You will see a file called arma2oa. Copy that.

Go back to the Operation Arrowhead folder where you made a copy of the Arma2OA. Paste the Beta you just copied into that folder. Replace the Exe when it promps you to do so.

Run Combined Operations through steam.

Is this before or after you installed the beta?

on a side note. have you activated dayz mod under the expansion menu in ARMA 2 OA main menu ?.

Manual install intructions i use:

1. When installing Arma from steam first run both Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA from steam when they are installed, to update them.

2. download the lastest beta patch which is 95208 as of this moment. http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php/

3. install the beta patch.

4. When done go to the folder where your arma 2 OA is located. (eksamble - x:\xxxx\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead )

5. Backup Arma2OA.exe (application file)

6. go into Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta and copy the arma2oa.exe, then paste it in the main folder Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead and overwrite the exiting file you backed up.

7. create a shortcut to the Arma2oa.exe and right click the shortcut and select Properties. ( might already have been created when you installed the beta patch)

8. in the area Target: type this "X:\XXXXX\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash

X= your own location.

9. Run arma from the shortcut and make sure you have 1.62.95208 in the lower right corner of the main menu screen, plus check that dayz is activated in expansions menu.

10. open multiplayer and start surviving!

You need to install the beta. Download it, then do the above.

I used this method but it still says the "You cannot play/edit this mission. It is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.: " And I reinstalled my Arma 2, but it still says it

I bought Arma II: Complete Collection and when I go onto any server besides Chernarous it says there has been content deleted.  This has been a problem now for a while and I hope it will be fixed
