If you have an empty glass bottle like a whiskey bottle or something you should be able to equip it, smash it, and use your broken bottle as a weapon.

For the stand alone version, I would say yes but to implement it in the mod it would be time consuming and not such a huge reward.

Empty Bottles do have a use.

1. Smash the windows to gain entry to the hospitals without alerting zeds.

2. Throw them at zeds to kill them ( takes about 5-7 empty bottles )

Fine - smash an empty bottle to be able to equip it as a weapon;

...but there should be just as much chance that you slash your hand open on a shard of glass and start bleeding out.
