Really many people are getting these issues, including me. I think it's the latest 1.7.2.x patches. I know many people who didnt have any issues on 1.7.1.5.

EDIT: There is alot settings and tweaks you can do, but atleast for me nothing helps with that FPS lag... You can find the tweaks in this forum.

Before you can retort with "I can play other fps games just fine" ArmA isn't other fps games.

Couple things you can try is by disabling Multi/SuperSampleing AA in your NVIDIA Control Panel. Along with Ambient Occlusion as this is the most performance hit your GPU can take with ArmA. Turn VSYNC and Triple Buffering on so you don't bottle neck your card because ArmA is heavily CPU dependent and it needs the cycles.

In the Video Options in game turn AA to normal or low and Video Memory size to Default so all your GPU's memory is used. Make sure Video Resolution and Interface Size is set to be the same, the native resolution of your monitor. Post processing to Low and HDR to normal

Also try going to the config files in C:\Users\USERNAME\My Documents\ArmA 2 and edit these lines in them.

ArmA2.cfg

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;

ArmA2OA.cfg

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;

AToC=0;

PPAA=3;

PPAA_Level=3; <<== THIS defeats the purpose of Multi\SuperSampleing AA and AToC (ArmA's own unique AA) PPAA is actually SMAA

Try these settings out and see what you get.
