Ladders should just be completely avoided at all costs. I've just tried to climb a ladder only for the character to glitch at the top, fall to the ground unconscious and bleed out.

Until they fix the ladders i'm a stairs only guy...

The only ladders I will climb are the ones to dear stands. All the rest should be avoided:P
