Vendayn 7 Posted July 20, 2012 Saw in the change log for six launcher, that servers don't have dropped items while swimming anymore. Did I understand that right? Is that for every server that gets updated? Or do servers have to manually choose? Twice (once me, once my friend) glitched into water at a harbor along coast...my character literally took a flying leap into it (I was at the railroads...) and my friend game froze and he teleported into the water. So, we both lost everything.Of course, we've gotten it all back (and more)...but dropping items in water is kind of lame, with how buggy it is. And doesn't really make sense to begin with.
Lith 80 Posted July 20, 2012 I thought that was fixed many beta patches ago. I could be wrong. I know the six updater was way behind on the changelog this morning when I looked at it.
Vendayn 7 Posted July 20, 2012 How long ago? It was only a 5 days or so ago (give or take a day) that my friend lost everything in the water. And a day later, it happened againMaybe its server related?
andb52 12 Posted July 20, 2012 I don't know how to enable it on a server. I thought it had to be edited in the mission file. I know that on my server you drop all of your stuff.

The server not only needs to run and enforce the beta version or greater where the addition was implemented, but they need to be running the latest version of the DayZ mission as well. This mission has the code to keep it from happening. Server admins can get it on the DayZ support site under their My Servers panel.
Lith 80 Posted July 20, 2012 I swear it was a changelog note in either DayZ or the Arma2 beta. I've been in the water multiple times in the last 2 weeks without losing my bag. So I'm unsure when it was implemented. I tried googling changelogs but there wasn't an easy list to view.

My server, US188, is hosted by Vilayer. I have kept it up to date, yet items still drop in the water. Vilayer provides quite limited access to admins. If the beta patch is indeed the latest, do you think it is possible that somehow it is running an outdated mission file? Thanks!

Just make sure you're running the latest mission file.@andb52 - Although I haven't read bug reports yet, so items still may be dropping as a glitch.
