DayZ kills whole network

Recommended Posts

Seen many topics around but just wanted to put my experience here... Basically, somewhere in data transfer between me and servers network shuts off, router disconnects. I got the game yesterday, played a bit and suddenly all disconnections appeared.

Stuff I tried:

- Putting router on factory defaults

- Switching off every firewall possible

- Port forwarding ports

- Installing DayZ on 2 different OS (Win7 x64 and XP x86)

- Re-installing BattlEye

- Somebody said in topics around that its because of game run in full screen, tried windowed, same thing

- Called ISP also and they will check but I doubt that will be of any help as this happens only with this game

My router is Siemens SX763.

Thanks!

Sounds like an overflow issue. router gets lots of udp requests and thinks it's being attacked so it auto shuts down. Had something like that with my old router. I believe the factory reset worked for me. Ended up with a new router when I changed ISP.

edit: try looking at this http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Router_Slowdown

Maybe disabling the packet filtering will help.

You are running some sort of application making that UDp traffic....are you streamimg?

Try connect direct without router and see if any difference...

Can you post the make/model of your router? I will be able to help you much more if I know that information. Specifically you should look for an option called "SPI" which stands for "stateful packet inspection," but also known as "dynamic packet filtering." You can also look over some of your NAT filter settings to make sure they aren't restricting packets being received.

I am using a Sprint MiFi2200 and the same exact thing happens. I will start any of the server searching programs (SixLauncher, DayZCommander, Arma2) and it will crash my whole network card and wont come back up until the program is closed.
