[Help] New to the game. Need help with performance tweak.

Recommended Posts

Hello Forum!

I just recently purchased Arma II and downloaded Dayz, because everyone is telling me it's so awesome.

I've been playing just a couple of hours now, and I love the concept of the game, but the engine is utterly useless.

The game is lagging on my Laptop when I'm in big cities. My laptop can run all other high end games perfectly with decent FPS. Which is why I'm looking for some tweaks and tricks to increase the performance of the game.

I've turned everything down in the in-game option menu, but I'm still lagging when I'm in the big cities. I don't care if the game looks completely utter shit, just give me some good tweak advices so that I can run it with decent fps ;)

Here's my current ArmA2OA.ini:

This is all there is.

Is there no ini. tweaks that can be done?

try 3d resolution!

The 3d resolution is set to the same as the interface resolution.

I hate when people try and play this game on a laptop >.<

Change your interface and 3D res to a smaller number.

Advanced options:

Everything that is not listed here is going to be set to normal.

Ani filter - low

Antialiasing - low

Objects detail - low

Shadows - Off

Post Process - low

Vsync - Off

Did you see the Dxdiag? It's a decent laptop. And it runs other games that requiers far more than this game pretty well. It's just that this game has a broken engine. I already disabled all those options,

Thanks. Checking this one out now. Not sure what they mean by "Go in your control panel, in the profile for Arma 2 OA, set the following:" though.

Turn down your settings, but keep the reso at whatever the native reso that your monitor supports. That way it doesnt have to do any calculations to display the image(s)

How do I find the native resolution that my monitor supports?
