Bandit-Campfire or Survivor-HQ for me?

Recommended Posts

Well, here i am, after nearly two Month of playing and I still don't know if I am a Good-Survivor or a Scumbag-Bandit, since I like both attitudes somehow... Maybe you guys can help me figure it out, here's my playstyle and my oppinion on shooting players....

My typical life goes like this: I spawn and make my way to either cherno or elektro on low population servers. When I got my stuff (Alice pack, an AR and a Pistol, some Morphine and food/drinks, a compass, map and hunting knife) I usually switch to higher populated servers because more players increase the spawnrate in military grade buildings such as Stary Military-Camp when they go there. That is the time I go hunt for good gear (I do not do it on low pop servers because it seems, that choppers spawn more likely on high population servers). And that is also the time I begin to meet other players. Since I got spawn-sniped, backstabbed and betrayed allready I now know whom to trust and whom not to. Now, since I go on the hunt for my favourite weapons (such as the M24 Sniper, the AK-Cobra and the M9SD) I HAVE to got into places where others are. Here's my way of choosing who to shoot and who not to:

When I encounter somebody who is allready surrounded by corpses or is looting a deadbody I shoot on sight because I allways assume that he wont be friendly after all. Boom Dead.

When I encounter somebody looting simple places like Cherno I sneak past them as good as I can and keep in mind that they are there. If I encounter them I openly announce I am friendly over direct chat. Now there are three options: 1: No answer and wandering around, looking at me. I shoot because I cant estimate theit intentions by no answers. 2: Answer is "I am not friendly", off course I shoot. 3: Anser is "I am friendly" I keep supsicious but I now know there is somebody behind that ingame character. If the begin to talk to me more than just "I am friendly" i loosen up a bit more and maybe travel with them for a short period of time. The live.

When I encounter somebdoy in high value spaces (Stary or the Airfields) I get to a vantage point, fire a single time and announce I am armed but friendly. Same play as before, three options, no answer, shoot, bad answer, shoot, talking, living. In these places I keep my distance to them and a cover between me and them, backstabbing is most likely if you got some good gear (an m24 and an alice pack may be a good point to shoot someone in the back)

Newly spawned players: I walk up to them and talk to em, friendly, they can't harm me. If the respond simply and walk past, I let em walk, if the keep mute, I let them walk but what I built up in the past few weeks: If they seem like nice guys and girls, talk to me, ask me questions if they are new, I hook them up with food and medicals if I got spare items (no gun, never give away a gun to a stranger, believe me, the thankful guy will always pay you in lead to the head -.-). I like to help new spawned because sometimes looting an be a pain in the ass.

Unfortunately mostly people "want" to die by either not responding at all or giving me the "bit** suck my **** I am the boss here blabla", so my kill count raises 2 or 3 in every single gameplay I have and only a few are really friendly and receive my mercy and help... I don't know, maybe I do the right thing but for me DayZ is not about killing each other on every occasion, it's survival and how do you survive longer? By Teamwork...

Please guys, tell me, am I a bandit or a friendly-wanderer of the wilds? I am confused since I kill so many but help everyone who truly deserves it :)

Your a lost soul, like alot of us.

Don't want to kill, don't want to be killed, but do both.

Personally I'd look at both, like I do.
