Zombies should have more random Loot

Recommended Posts

Hello People.

I think that the Player should be rewarded more for killing the Infected. They should have more random Loot including Food and Drinks and Bandages. Maybe even Morphine.

Now the Situation is very disappointing and you have no Advantage by killing Zombies.

Do you agree with me? Whats your Point of View?

Nah. The infected have little to no items, and that's fair considering they are infected civilians. Do you carry a can of beans on you at all times, just in case a zombie apocolypse breaks out? Maybe you do! Well, then you're that one zombie I killed last night that had that can of beans. Awesome. But not everyone does that, let alone carry drinks at all times or bandages even.

Though, considering that logic, I'd agree with you that infected military personnel should at least have something realistic, like maybe always a heatpack and bandage, or always a magazine of some sort. Since realistically, that would be closest to what you would expect them to have.

Even Civilians can take Precaution before being infected. A Bandage or Morphine carried isn't uncommon in that Case. Drinks, too. But that is my Point of View.

But what I really want is the Zombies to have more Loot in General. I think this would keep the Game realistic and also provide a Lot of Fun to the Player while beind rewarded for Killing Infected.

Ah yea good point. I guess we ARE survivors facing possible infection in actuality, and we are hording supplies, so we would have tons of loot if we became infected.

I would say it would require some careful consideration if loot was increased on typical infected civilians. Perhaps they should have a lot more on them, but a lot of useless stuff that wouldn't contribute to survival. It wouldn't really be much fun if you shoot an Enfield, lure a a small village to a church and kill them all, then loot 18 bodies each with 2 cans of beans, 1 morphine, 1 pop, 2 epipens, 3 blood bags. That would ruin it.

I like the scanging aspect, finding most survival items in places I'd expect them to be (hospital, market, firestation, airfield, etc.). I wouldn't expect infected to have anything of value in comparison to those areas, and with a rather small loot table of unique items, it'd be difficult to justify additional loot on the infected rendering city scavanging obsolete.

What kind of "more loot in General" are you referring to?

Maybe even a makarov?

Yea. Though I wouldn't expect the pilot infected to have those, but definitely infected military hanging around a base with tents, right?

First Aid Kits and all what belongs to that, Food and Supplies and even Ammunition sometimes.

The Game doesn't have to be that hard as it is now, does it?

Well, the whole point is for it to be difficult to get items. Some people are actually saying it's too easy to get piled up on gear.

Perhaps a better solution would be to seperate the hive into sections of difficulty. If you start on a Easy server, lots of zombie loot and stuff will spawn, and as long as you join a server within that difficulty setting in the hive you will maintain your character. Joining a different difficulty, like Regular, Veteran, Elite, would reduce loot on zombies and in general, including absence of a crosshair, maybe forced first person, etc.

As it is now, it's hard to accomodate everyone's lootability preferences and such with a hive-wide character.

EDIT: If it is difficult to gear up and such, perhaps join a small group to increase survivability and to increase your loot?

Just like there are military zombies that carry military clips there can be "doctor" zombies in lab coats that randomly carry medical supplies or "police" zombies that carry sidearms and/or clips.

Zombies could be outfitted in different clothes and carry different items dependant on what their previous profession was.

You have good Ideas with the different Servers and such. I am Playing in a small Group (3 People, me included), but most of the Time we try to regroup, but thats not easy. In most Cases we are killed before we can go into Formation, before we can regroup. And even with 3 People we have a hard Time.

No, as it is, DayZ is too difficult for me. I have understood the Behaviour of Infected, thats not the Problem. The Problem is, that we die not because of PK's but because of dehydration and that Kind of Things. Hunger. You know what I mean.

Are you playing on veteran servers? Regular and Veteran, along with 3DP/CH on/off the rate of dehydration and hunger is different. Regular, of course, taking longer.

Could be due to a playstyle. Raid buildings with higher rate of Food/Drink spawns (markets!!). Refer to http://dayzdb.com/map when you spawn, on a Regular server, see if prioritizing specific lootable buildings increases your survivability.

Indeed we were playing on Veteran Servers. Nice Infos you have there, thanks. I did not knew that. And, I guess, my Friends don't know either. Thanks, Man! :) Will tell 'em this Evening.

OP is right(but stop using capitals in the middle of sentences FFS). Perhaps medic or doctor zombies could have a bandage, of course with a low spawn rate like 10 percent. Regular soldiers would have a STANAG 5.56 clip or an AK clip on them (50 percent chance) because that's what they do. Heavy soldiers could maybe spawn more M249 belts. And maybe even now and then a zombie soldier could be carrying a Glock or some sort of pistol.

Again, very low spawn rate (except for zombie ammo) but this is a good idea.

I agree, I would go even say have some of them have backpacks with items in them. In the event something like this really happened people would carry as much as they could on them. Maybe not a can of beans in the pocket, but bandages, water, watches, maps, and heck weapons. I sure know I would have a knife at all times, and why would the infected remove them. Look at the world now, I know people that would run around with hundreds of pounds of items, mostly guns. Now I dont know about different countries, so that may be were the issue is but the infected need more loot. May even help a tiny bit with the palyer murders, if you have a good chance of getting some decent loot from the infected over the itemless player.
