How to fill your canteen?

So this mod is awesone first and foremost. I've never felt so much tension while playing a game!

My guy has finally found a couple of stashes and managed to get some ammo and a water canteen. I had to log out next to a lake, because I cannot figure out how to refill the canteen and take a drink. My guy is about to die from dehydration can someone please help me survive the zombie scourge a little bit longer?!?

Please help a noob out.

walk into the water a bit NOT TOO FAR. than open your inventory. Make sure the canteen is not in backpack. right click the canteen and it will say fill water bottle. FILL WATER BOTTLE. w00t!

You can also fill up canteens at water pumps. And on the water pump you use your middle mouse button and select 'fill water bottle' and there you go!

I actually opened my gear and right clicked to fill a water bottle at a pump today. It seemed easier than hunting around for the mouse wheel to work.

I can confirm this, I have found a few wells without a pump (boarded up on top) and you can fill your canteen there.
