rockwood 10 Posted July 19, 2012 Not for when you are playing the running simulator, but once the zed pathing is worked out it might be a good idea for the survivor to be able to run faster at first and then eventually slow down until the zombies are on top of you. this would be different then the cross country run/job, which wouldn't be effected by stamina. this is the more dead spring top speed thing that people can't keep up forever. Also the idea of weight may be a good one too. Carrying a rifle, one in your coyote patrol pack, a pistol, and a bunch of other inventory, then you should have a high weight and therefore not be able to run as fast or as long as someone with nothing on them. also people with heavier weight shouldn't be able to sneak around as easily with all that heavy stuff bouncing around. Caviano 287 Posted July 19, 2012 Me and my partners notice that others DEFINITELY slow down after a long time of running, we often take 30-60 second breaks together so we can catch our breath, maybe is psychological but we notice people sometimes lagging behind, despite being in the double tap "W" spring mode.So perhaps it's already implemented just without a visual interface for it. Rocket did say he wanted immersion.
Orbmaniac 7 Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) someone once told me people with lower ping runs faster than other. i have yet to confirm but i know some people run faster than others.i do not support this idea since once a patch come that allows infected to run in building we would have a really hard time. but if we found a better way to lose charging infected then maybe this would be a viable idea.edit: i have been running like half the coast non stop once. and im pretty sure i never needed a breather caviano. breathers are usually for getting your accuracy back. rockwood 10 Posted July 20, 2012 I've noticed that some players run faster then others, but im not sure why, maybe the ping, maybe it has something to do with hydration, but i still think that this would be a good way to make it slightly harder to get away from zombies
Womb Raider 92 Posted July 20, 2012 Sigh. You do realize you were never meant to traverse the whole of Chernarus on foot right, you'd be doing it in vehicles as it is a military simulator. Also an idea like this might put of more casual users, that aren't used to mechanics like this, I get what you mean though OP.
