Recommended Posts

i only played the demo and i didnt understand shit, however i now would understand :D. i only bought for dayz

DayZ =/= ArmaII

ArmaII =/= DayZ

ArmaII is MUCH more complex than DayZ is.

DayZ removes many features that are in ArmaII like wind.

Been playing arma 2 a year before dayz release date, Honestly arma 2 has that feel which no other game has, especially online. Domination online is real fun, i suggest you at least give a try, You already bought the game what do you have to lose?

Arma 2 doesn't have wind, ACE does, but that itself is a mod. Albeit one you wouldn't play without.

OT: Yes I played OFP, Arma 1 and Arma 2 very regularly. Perhaps that is why I never found DayZ to be the super hard experience everyone else seems too. Knowing the map pretty much off by heart, being able to easily recognize enterable buildings at a distance, and generally being adept at the game probably helped a lot.

I played it some after buying arma 2 for dayz only. enjoyed parts of the SP campaign, few too many rough edges and bugs to be a great game, but some parts are awesome.

multiplayer is ok. i doubt i have seen it at its best yet, i'm sure clan vs clan would be good, but with randoms it is too disjointed.

i think when arma 3 comes out i will join a clan and see if i can get a really great experience out of it. the game has unlimited potential and it is going in the right direction, but there are a few too many rough edges.

would be nice to find some different game set ups. i played a lot of americas army in the past, would be good to have a small map with just infantry doing very specific objectives in tight timescales, not every arma 2 server needs to be running huge sprawling fights over huge areas (these are good but variety is king).

there don't seem to be too many scenario servers around either. 10 spec ops guys in a huge map vs a large platoon size force. needing to keep hidden while completing objectives.

Loved OFP, liked Arma, bought ArmaII for United Operations and most of all Project Reality. And then I stumbled upon (= got my face shoved into by hype) DayZ.

If you're one of those sissyboys who bought it for DayZ, I'm sorry.

Arma is brilliant, in spite of it's quirky interface. It's flaws are endearing, really. Domination is good stuff, so are the smaller, heavily scripted co-op campaigns with a few friends.

I played ArmA 1 for years...ArmA 2 for years after that. It took a lot for me to finally get ArmA and enjoy it. Once I did...I never looked back. I loved the feel of the game at night during a lightning storm with silenced weapons. Experiencing my first nuke and launching Javelin's off a mountain top at night watching my targets explode in a ball of fire in the valley below. Lazing targets for my friend in a jet while he drops bombs on my targets...

The list goes on.

Once you get used to the controls and how the game plays, you will never find a more complete experience than ArmA.

I can't wait for ArmA 3.
