How to die correctly?

As stupid as it sounds, I wanna make sure I'm not accidentally depriving my killer of my gear. Once I get to the "You are dead" screen, I just esc and hit abort, right? Nothing else to it? I've heard you must hit respawn first or something.

All you do is hit "Abort" as you said, there is no need for you to press "Respawn" are you're already dead.

It's the honorable thing to do. When I die, I will miss all the high end gear and tools but at least I know they'll be passed on to someone else. Wish I would be able to hear their reaction. :)

I have the same reaction. My philosophy is (if they weren't a damned hacker) to say 'Kudos to you, good sir! I hope you enjoy the loot because your DayZ kung-fu got the better of me when I had my guard down.'

When I die with good loot, I take comfort in the fact I gave a little happiness to a stranger in an unforgiving world

Ya my last death was climbing a deer stand only 5 minutes after joining the server. Suffice to say I did not scout the area and mr. makarov had a half a clip in my back and then the other half in my front by the time i turned around. That was a good deer stand spawn for him :)
